Japan's largest branding firm.
As Japan's largest consultancy with an exclusive focus on branding, Gramco has the experience, the know-how, the resources and, especially, the people to help clients establish their brands effectively in the domestic and global markets. As a look at our portfolio on this site shows, we have conducted branding projects for many of Japan's largest, best-known corporations, helping them to unify their brands and communicate them more effectively. Many if not most of these companies have a higher profile today than before we conducted our branding project. We have also helped numerous young companies establish themselves in the market and attract positive attention to their brands. Even after completion of a branding or rebranding project, many of these clients continue to rely on us for support in meeting their emerging branding needs.
As Gramco has grown in size and experience, and as interest in branding has grown in Japan, we have been able to attract increasingly capable staff, whether talented young people directly from university or veterans of fields such as advertising, business consulting, market research and IT. All these creative people have a passion for branding ― and for deploying it to help businesses do business better. Our approach stresses both the intelligence to uncover and solve clients' particular needs, and the sensitivity to help clients achieve the proper “tone and manner” in terms of language and design to raise their brand appeal to the highest possible degree.
In a reflection of this dual focus, our organization is roughly divided between planning and consulting staff, on the one hand, and design staff, on the other. The members of our planning divisions, which operate as semi-independent “companies,” and our design divisions, which handle both graphic and architectural/interior design, work closely with each other to create integrated solutions that take into account both appropriate linkage between the clients' management and its branding strategies and positive visual identity (VI) development to bring these strategies coherently before the public eye.
One of the first firms in Japan to recognize the importance of new media as a key branding contact point between organizations of all kinds and their stakeholders, Gramco also has a Web/Motion Unit staffed with gifted Web designers and video producers. Our Publications and Editorial Division, Markable Inc., has released a long list of publications clarifying various issues involving brands and branding for interested readers in Japan, where knowledge of this exciting field is still relatively limited.
